This sport coat was worn by the character "Buddy Evans," portrayed by actor Burt Reynolds, in the 1981 romantic comedy, "Paternity." The garment is constructed of tan rough weave wool with wooden buttons on the front and cuffs. The coat was custom made for the actor's use by Cotroneo and the interior has the original tailoring label sewn inside with the name "Burt Reynolds" clearly typed.
Mr. Reynolds wore this garment in several key scenes of the film. He first wore the coat during the sequence when he brings flowers to the butcher shop to meet with "Diane Cassabello" (Toni Kalem) and asks her to be the surrogate mother of his child. He again wore the coat during the scene where he visits "Maggie" (Beverly D'Angelo) at the doctor's office and is overjoyed to learn that the in vitro fertilization process was successful.
The coat is in excellent vintage screen worn condition and is accompanied by a letter of authenticity. Presented by The Golden Closet, your premier source for iconic screen used wardrobe, props, and collectible music entertainment memorabilia. |
