The shorts were worn by the character “Laura” portrayed by Esther Williams in the 1958 feature film “Raw Wind in Eden”. The black and white gingham shorts have a back zip closure with an internal “Universal International” label with “Esther Williams” handwritten. The lace trim along the hem was removed for use in a subsequent production. Mrs. Williams can be seen wearing these shorts while repairing a sailboat.
This garment is in excellent condition and is accompanied by a letter of authenticity from the costume house.
